Meghan Markle looks dashing in Givenchy dress as she attends her first solo engagement and even takes part in a Maori nose-rubbing greeting
The Duchess of Sussex attended her first solo engagement at the opening of a major Royal Academy art exhibition.
Meghan was barely able to keep a straight face as she took part in a traditional Maori greeting during her first solo engagement on Tuesday. While being introduced to a Maori guest at the opening of “Oceania” at the Royal Academy of Arts Meghan, 37, did a “hongi” a traditional greeting of rubbing noses.
Meghan performed a hongi with several of her hosts, including New Zealand’s high commissioner Sir Jerry Mateparae and his wife Janine.
While being given a tour of the exhibit, Meghan viewed many of the 200 artefacts on show at the exhibition and told New Zealand video artist Lisa Reihani, “It’s so special. It’s spectacular.” The Duchess said it was a perfect introduction to the region she and Harry will be visiting next month.
