Gay couples stage national kissing protest to fight anti-LGBTQ views
Same sex couples have staged a national kissing protest to fight Spanish far-right party Vox’s anti-LGBTQ views.
The protest is in reaction to comments made by members of the party. A previous party MP said gay couples with children don’t constitute as a “real family”, while leader Santiago Abascal said marriage is only for a man and a woman.
The kissing protest comes as the Vox political party could win its first seats in the country’s Parliament today as the country votes in a national snap election.
The protest began after two women took to the streets to kiss right in front of those campaigning for Vox. The photo went viral online and sparked a national protest with more gay couples taking to the streets to kiss their partners in front of Vox campaign stands.
