El-Zakzaky and wife leave for India
Leader of the proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat on Monday August 12, arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja for their trip to India.
The couple who have been in DSS detention facility following their arrest in 2015, will be embarking on the medical trip after being granted leave to travel abroad for medical treatment by a Kaduna High Court. The Islamic sect leader and his wife will be travelling on a privately chartered aircraft and will be accompanied on the trip by DSS operatives as ordered by the court.
IMN Spokesman, Ibrahim Musa confirmed that the group’s leader and his wife were at the airport in preparation for their flight to Medenta Hospital New Delhi, India for medical treatment.
This came after 186 doctors from Pakistan, India, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq wrote a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari over their health condition.
