Nigerian model accuses singer Tecno of colorism, says he refused to use her in his music video because she’s dark-skinned

A dark-skinned Nigerian model has accused singer Tecno of colorism. She said he refused to give her a role because of her skin color.

The model, whose name is given as Debbie, said she was embarrassed by the Pana crooner who refused to use her as the main model for a video shoot, and told her he would prefer a light-skinned model for the close up shot and manage her just for the full shots.

When asked by her IG followers if she jumped to the conclusion or if Tecno explicitly told her he didn’t want her because of her skin color, she said he told her clearly that he was refusing her because she wasn’t light-skinned.
