Pharrell Williams orders Donald Trump to stop playing his songs at his rallies, slaps him with a cease-and-desist letter
American rapper and singer, Pharrell Williams has ordered the US president Donald Trump to stop playing his music at his rallies after he played his song ‘Happy’ at a political rally hours after a mass shooting at a synagogue.
Hours after the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday, where 11 people were killed, President Trump played Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ during a rally in Indiana despite the tragedy inflicted upon the country.
Pharrell through his lawyer has now expressed his anger including issuing a cease-and-desist letter.
The letter, from Los Angeles-based lawyer Howard King, states: “On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged ‘nationalist,’ you played his song ‘Happy’ to a crowd at a political event in Indiana. There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose.”
