Police parade 40 suspected kidnappers, cattle rustlers in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 40 suspects in connection with kidnapping, cattle rustling and culpable homicide.
Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Yola, Adamawa State capital, on Monday February 15, the new State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu, said the command anti-kidnapping unit in collaboration with professional hunters achieved the feat in coordinated operations in villages across the state.
“The command’s anti-kidnapping unit and other tactical units in compliance with my directives in my maiden address, collaborated with professional hunters, being our critical stakeholders in our policing strategy, were deployed to Chigari, Yadim, Wuro-Bokki, Sigire, Nassarawo Jereng villages of Fufore, Mayo-Belwa, Song, Mubi LGAs,” the stated.
“On the strength of that, 40 suspects in connection with kidnapping activities, cattle rustling and culpable homicide across the state were apprehended. Eight AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, one Sharon vehicle, and N1,130, 000 cash were recovered.”
He called on the public to divulge useful information that would help the police in combating crimes in the state.
The CP also urged the public to be security conscious and vigilant, and report any suspicions movement to the security agencies across the state.
Those arrested for criminal conspiracy and kidnapping are; Ibrahim Dazi Zuru 30 years, Shehu Sani, 30, Ali Mallam Dankarami, 37, Hasshuna Latanailu, 35, Ibrahim Daji, 37, Ali Mallam Dankarun, 37, Ahmadu Dajo, 37, Mohammadu Nafiu Zakari, Rabo Isa, 37, Lawal Bawa, 35, Umaru Abubakar, 30, Ango Alh. Abdu, 30, Abubakar Ibrahim, 40, Umar Hassan, 40, and Shehu Umaru,18 .
Others are Bello Mohammed, 30, Idi Mallam Sule, 30, Abubakar Hamza, 37, Bawuro Umar, 37, Tukur Mohammed, 37, Shehu Ahmadu, 37, Haliru Mohammed, 37, Ibrahim Ahmed, 18, Umar Mohammed,40, Bello Jauro, 21, Nixson Usman, 26, Adamu Garba, 35, Jibrilla Atiku, 45, Ruwa Gidado, 20, Abdulmumini Ori Usman, 45, Dotti Mamman, 25, Mohammed Musa Dan Borno and AbdullahiAlhajiNjidda, 30.
The rest are Babangida Bello, 20, Manu Majo 20, Ahmadu Ali 25, Mohammed Mumuni 13, Hussaini Alh. Nagusau, Sani Hassan 18, Ibrahim Adamu 18, and Hamadu Labi, 30.
