Media personality, Funmi Iyanda has reacted to photos of a starving lion and dozens of underfed animals at a Nigerian zoo 

The media personality who described it as a “strong society metaphor”, further averred that ”caging something so powerful and beautiful, reduces it to an unrecognisable version of itself until it dies is typical mindless cruelty.”

She tweeted; 

Such a strong society metaphor. Cage something so powerful and beautiful, reduce it to an unrecognisable version of itself until it dies is typical mindless cruelty. The mindlessness is what makes it so effective because the cruelty is unplanned, slow and casual. It just is.
