This Woman, 22, dies after suicidal boy, 12, jumps off an overpass and lands on her car but he survives

A 22 year old Maryland womanMarisa Harris, who was minding her own business and driving under the Cedar Lane overpass on Interstate 66 in Virginia, has been killed, after a 12-year-old boy threw himself off an overpass and landed on her Ford Escape at 4:18pm on Saturday afternoon.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene while the suicidal boy who caused the accident, survived. He was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

The suicidal boy’s name has not been released because he is a minor. The reason why he tried to commit suicide is not yet known.

A man who was a passenger in Harris’ front seat was able to stop the car on the left shoulder, fortunately, he was not injured at all.

The interstate was closed for several hours as police worked the scene. It was reopened after the scene had been cleared.
