Why Mr. Ibu’s adopted daughter and sons were invited by the police – Former manager Chochoo speaks following N300million embezzlement allegation

Emeka Chochoo, the former manager of actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has explained why the actor’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, and his older sons, Daniel and Val, were invited by the police.

Daniel and Val are Ibu’s adult sons from his previous relationship.

On Wednesday night, Nov. 22, actress Doris Ogala announced that Ibu’s adopted daughter Jasmine Chioma Okafor, and his sons have been arrested over claims that Jasmine transferred N300 million donated by Nigerians to Mr Ibu’s account, to her account.

Why Mr. Ibu

It was later alleged that Mr Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris Okafor, ordered their arrests after asking for transparency regarding the money donated by Nigerians to her ailing husband. Stella Maris had said Jasmine is the one who has access to the account and has refused to give account of how the money is being used.

Doris wrote: “Jasmine and Ibu’s sons were arrested at Alagbon Police Station. They are detained there. Ibu’s wife alleged that Jasmine moved  N300 million out of the account. Ibu’s wife allegedly wanted them to buy her new house from the money contributed so far for Ibu’s treatments. That’s why she arrested Jasmine. But investigation states that the money contributed isn’t even up to N300 million.”

Why Mr. Ibu

Reacting, Mr Ibu’s former manager, Chochoo, confirmed that Jasmine, Daniel, and Val were invited by the police over the actor’s account.

He told Punch: “Yes, they were all invited by the police. I won’t call it arrest; the police invited them over Mr Ibu’s account. However, Val is left out as he knows nothing about what’s been happening. He just returned to the country.

“I have not been able to reach any of them,” Chochoo added.

Recently, Stella Maris and Jasmine put their differences aside as they united to beg Nigerians to donate to Ibu’s medical bills. However, both women began fighting again over money after the donations came in.

Ibu had surgery weeks ago with the money donated by kind Nigerians and one of his legs was amputated.
